Blood flow assessment through the placenta and baby — the wellbeing test of pregnancy.

01 · What Is This Scan
Obstetric Doppler ultrasound measures blood flow velocities in the umbilical artery, middle cerebral artery, uterine arteries and ductus venosus. It is the most reliable tool for assessing fetal wellbeing in high-risk pregnancies and growth-restricted babies.
02 · Why It Matters
03 · What We Check
Umbilical artery PI, RI and S/D ratio
Middle cerebral artery Doppler
Uterine artery bilateral Doppler
Ductus venosus a-wave (in severe cases)
Amniotic fluid index
04 · How It's Done
We check why Doppler was requested and what to focus on.
Spectral Doppler on all relevant vessels with waveform analysis.
Findings interpreted in context of gestation and clinical picture.
Report guides your obstetrician on delivery timing.

A Note From Dr. Archana
"Doppler tells us how well the placenta is working. In tricky pregnancies, it is the difference between a safe delivery and a serious complication."
