01 · What Is This Scan

An Earlier Peek At Anatomy.

The early target scan is a detailed anatomy ultrasound performed at 16–18 weeks. While not as comprehensive as the 20-week TIFFA, it is useful for early reassurance, women with previous anomalies, or when the anomaly scan is expected to be difficult (e.g. high BMI).

06 · FAQs

Common Questions About The Early Target Scan.

Does this replace the anomaly scan?

No. The full anomaly scan at 18–22 weeks is still essential — the early target complements it.
