An early anatomy check — useful for women who want reassurance ahead of the full anomaly scan.

01 · What Is This Scan
The early target scan is a detailed anatomy ultrasound performed at 16–18 weeks. While not as comprehensive as the 20-week TIFFA, it is useful for early reassurance, women with previous anomalies, or when the anomaly scan is expected to be difficult (e.g. high BMI).

"For women who've had prior anomalies or a stressful earlier scan, the early target gives peace of mind two weeks sooner."

06 · FAQs
No. The full anomaly scan at 18–22 weeks is still essential — the early target complements it.
